Walland is where the Foothills Parkway begins its climb toward Look Rock and Chilhowee Lake, and the homes here follow the terrain: riverfront lots along Highway 321, mountain-view homes on the ridges and in the hollows off Old Walland Highway, and acreage tracts in the valleys toward Six Mile and Happy Valley. The Blackberry Farm resort sits just outside the community. Walland Elementary is part of Blount County Schools. Downtown Maryville is about 15 minutes northwest and the Townsend entrance to the national park about 15 minutes southeast, which puts Walland in the middle of what most Blount County buyers are driving to.
